How to Make Your Website More Trustworthy
Trust is a huge factor in converting website visitors into customers. If your site doesn't build trust, users will bounce.
People Don’t Trust Your Website: Here Are 7 Areas You Can Improve On Right Now
Today I’ll be summarizing some key actions you can take to improve the trust factor of your website.
Mobile Optimization
Over half of all traffic is from mobile devices. A mobile-friendly site design is crucial for trust and conversions.
When designing your site, approach from a mobile first standpoint to ensure you cater to these devices properly. Expanding on your content when users access from desktop.
Familiar UI/UX
Don't confuse users. Follow conventions and keep your UI consistent and straightforward.
To find good examples of these practices, you can look at other successful websites in your niche to see what they all have in common.
FAQ Section
Make your mission statement stand out with bold headings and eye-catching text. Black and white might feel too plain; consider adding more color.
Product Descriptions
Help users envision using your product. Write descriptions focused on your ideal customer and the end goal they want to achieve.
Rather than just listing out features, dive deep into the impact your product will have on your customers life.
Product Images
Typically there are 4 types of images that I like to use for product images.
Lifestyle Images - Show people using your product
360° view - Allow users to view all angles
Customer photos - Display real user generated images
Branded images - Stock photos with your brands style incorporated
Trust Badges
Reassure users it's safe to purchase by displaying security and payment badges.
A great example of this is Shopify checkout, we see “Powered by Shopify” and can tell the payment method will be safe.
Customer Reviews
Social proof like customer reviews builds credibility. Display them prominently.
On your product page, including testimonials either above the ATC button as a pop out or at the bottom of the page is usually best!
